Annual Volkswagen Foundation Fellows’ Meeting in Hannover

Submitted by noahrick on

The annual meeting of fellows supported through the Volkswagen Foundation takes place on September 11–12, 2025, at the Xplanatorium Herrenhausen in Hannover.

Once a year, the Foundation brings together all recipients of its current programs, including Freigeist Fellowships, Lichtenberg Professorships, Momentum Grants, Junior Professorships in Earth System Sciences, as well as Change! Fellowships and Research Groups for a joint colloquium. The event offers a unique opportunity for networking, exploring collaborations, and addressing challenges commonly faced in the early and mid-stages of academic careers.

This year’s program features project presentations by selected fellows, along with discussions on the situation of science in the United States, the workload of researchers in peer-review processes, and strategies for dealing with anti-democratic tendencies at universities.

From our group, Ilia Solov’yov will participate in the symposium and give a talk on Quantum Origins of Magnetic Sensing!
