Physics for Biology and Pharmacy, 2019 (FY528)

A close-up view of a hedge at SDU

The aim of the course is to introduce a series of topics in general physics. The course emphasizes topics of relevance for biologists and pharmacists.

In the course, students will practise the conceptual understanding of physical phenomena and the ability to describe these mathematically. Experimental exercises and the quantitative analysis of experimental results are an integrated part of the course. The course builds on knowledge acquired in high school and creates a foundation for future studies in pharmacy and biology.

In relation to the competence profile of the degree it is the explicit focus of the course to:

  • Understand how knowledge about nature is obtained through the interplay between theory and experiment.
  • Apply theories and methods in physics.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and experimental methods in physics.
